International Workshop on Accelerated Radical Innovation (IWARI 2005) Information Enhanced Technology Cluster Development Challenges March 10-12, 2005, College of Engineering, The University of Toledo, Toledo, OH, USA |
|
Why Attend IWARI2005? The Competitive Challenge A consensus has emerged that conventional incremental improvements and cost reduction strategies are insufficient and even counter-productive for 21st Century competitive advantage. Moreover, existing radical innovation strategies are too slow and uncertain for viable creation of the high growth industries now required for sustained economic growth and job creation. A dramatically accelerated radical innovation process has become critically important! This situation is the direct consequence of worldwide diffusion of knowledge and industrial capability, resulting in reduced costs of long distance transportation and exponential growth in low cost internet and cellular transmission of data and information. These have irreversibly exposed North American production and service sectors to low cost labor regions of the world. Rationale For The Workshop
